Casa do Impacto arrived, saw and won, leaving the social and environmental impact mark at Web Summit, the world’s largest entrepreneurship and technology conference.
This intense three-day journey was the most prominent participation of Casa do Impacto in Web Summit, until today. With a stand that did not go unnoticed by the thousands of conference participants, the hub’s team met countless impact entrepreneurs and aspiring ones, promoted potential national and international partnerships, and made known the activity of Casa do Impacto’s Community.
Among panels, masterclasses, competitions, and other experiences, with the biggest names in technology and entrepreneurship globally, event participants could also count on the program at the Casa do Impacto stand. Here’s a big thank you to everyone who joined us!
On November 2nd, LSE Generate from the London School of Economics kicked off the stand’s programming with a Mini Demo Day. Several startups associated with the university made their 5-minute pitch. Ubbu – code literacy closed this first day with a session to present its solution for classrooms and deepened the theme of digital literacy and global citizenship.
On the second day of the conference, Casa do Impacto started the morning with the launch of its new acceleration program, Triggers, and had the presence and intervention of several initiative partners, who did not want to miss the call. Find out all about Triggers here, and apply by January 7th. On that day, we also had GoParity, which shared with the audience the new feature of the platform that allows for the offsetting of the carbon footprint, and Impulso, which presented the new digital platform to support micro-businesses, Expansão.
WEB SUMMIT 2021
This year’s event had the most significant participation of Casa do Impacto to date.
Businesses with a positive impact are the businesses of the future, and the Government knows it too! On November 3rd, we received a visit from Pedro Siza Vieira, the Minister of State, Economy, and Digital Transitions and his team. As a result, several entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present them their projects directly.
On November 4th, the stand hosted Manicómio for a presentation of Manicómio The Agency, a project supported by the +Plus Investment Fund of Casa do Impacto.
Casa do Impacto’s participation ended with the visit of the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who transformed the stand into a sea of curious people by making himself available to speak directly with several of the entrepreneurs present. Thus, they had the unique opportunity to make themselves known and their project to the most remarkable figure of the Portuguese State.
Our incredible community always shows availability and entrepreneurial spirit that inspires us and, for that, we thank everyone! In addition to the projects mentioned above, Casa do Impacto’s community was there represented by It’s About Impact, The Minimal Magazine, Code Academy and the 3 finalists of Santa Casa Challenge – Nevaro, Blablablue and Surgeonmate Library.
See you next year Web Summit!
